An Alabama football 2026 commit will miss the opener of his senior season due to an amateurism violation.
Ezavier Crowell , the five-star running back out of Jackson High School , will miss his team's season opener against Saraland on Friday, Aug. 22, WKRG TV reports, after he was suspended for violating the AHSAA's amateurism bylaws.
According to a report, Jackson High School notified the AHSAA that Crowell accepted a gift which has since been returned.
Crowell is expected to return for his Week 2 contest against Demopolis.
Crowell is one of three Alabama football in-state commits ranked as top-four prospects in the state joining Alexander City five-star wide receiver Cederian Morgan and Gadsden four-star defensive back Zyan Gibson . Need a break? Play the USA TODAY Daily
