APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) - A little under three years after a $129 referendum was passed by voters, Appleton Area School District officials are showcasing some of the results of the funding.

On Wednesday, officials provided tours and details on how the funding was used, showcasing a private tour to the media of Sandy Slope Elementary School before the public got a chance to see it.

It's the district's brand-new elementary school with classes set to kick off for the first time this fall.

Superintendent Greg Hartjes said in a release that the overall projects were possible because of the community's support and desire to help students have a brighter future.
