BOISE, Idaho — Boise Pride Festival may have fallen short of its fundraising goal this year – but organizers are still throwing a party this September to celebrate Idaho’s LGBTQ+ community.

The newly-announced theme of the festival is “Our Pride, Our Power.” Festival president Michael Dale said the theme “speaks to the moment we’re in — one where LGBTQ+ people in Idaho and across the country are facing renewed hostility and increasing marginalization.”

The festival is still seeking donations as a result of losing corporate sponsors. Donations are accepted through a crowdfunding campaign for the fireworks displays, which organizers previously told KTVB is an important aspect of the celebrations they want to keep for participants.
