BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- "Dangerously hot conditions" are expected over the next few days and into the weekend with temperatures expected to be in the 100s throughout Kern County.
The National Weather Service has issued an extreme heat warning and advisory for areas in Kern County.
The extreme heat warning is in effect from 11 a.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Sunday in Bakersfield, Taft and areas in the western-, southern- and easternmost areas of Kern County.
A heat advisory is in effect from 11 a.m. Friday to 8 a.m. to 8 a.m. Sunday for the areas of Shafter, Delano, Wasco, Lake Isabella, Buttonwillow, Lost Hills, Kernville and the Kern River Valley.
The National Weather Service in Hanford said temperatures may reach up to 105 in some areas.
