Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting in Inkster.

At 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, Michigan State Police and Inkster police responded to a reported shooting on Hickory Avenue in the city, MSP said in a social media post.

K-9 officers, an aviation unit, evidence technicians and crime scene reconstruction specialists assisted at the scene, MSP said, deferring comment to Inkster police.

Inkster police confirmed a fatal shooting in the 3100 block of Hickory Street but declined to further comment on the case when reached by The Detroit News.

The victim was a 41-year-old man who sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene, WDIV-TV (Channel 4) reported .

Authorities haven't released additional details, including information about any potential suspect or motive.
