AMADOR CITY, Calif. —
The Sutter Amador Surgery Center in Jackson will close on Oct. 3, raising concerns among Amador County residents about the impact on local health care access.
Patricia Tara, a patient at the center, shared her experience as a colon cancer survivor who relies on regular colonoscopies.
"I'm a colon cancer survivor, and so I have to have my colonoscopy every three years or so, and I was already two years overdue," Tara said. She highlighted the difficulty of finding local medical care, saying, "So having a place and finding somebody is very, very difficult and our doctors are getting fewer and fewer here."
