JD Vance Says Gavin Newsom’s Trump Mockery Ignores President’s ‘Fundamental Genius’

Vice President JD Vance panned California Governor Gavin Newsom for mimicking President Donald Trump in social media posts.

Over the past week or so, Newsom’s official press account has been posting all-caps screeds on various matters in what is a clear attempt to mock Trump’s online diatribes. Conservatives have responded by criticizing Newsom’s posts as “foolish” and “childish,” while generally ignoring the fact that the posts are intended to mock Trump.

On Wednesday’s edition of on Fox News, Vance acknowledged the strategy behind the posts, but said the governor does not understand that Trump is “authentic.”
