JACKSON COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) - Solar panel energy is almost a reality for a $500 million facility under construction in the Ravenswood area.

BHE Renewables is in the process of developing a renewable energy microgrid using nearly 200,000 solar panels that will provide 70 percent of the power to Titanium Metals Corporation.

Across the street, construction remains underway on the TIMET facility. Once ready, they will produce titanium products used for industrial, aerospace and medical purposes. They have hired 50 people already and will end with at least 200 full-time employees.

Construction is scheduled to be done by the end of year. The BHE Renewable solar project is expected to be completed by 2027.
