GRINNELL, Iowa (KCRG) - It wasn’t a typical service call for Grinnell Police officers to receive on Wednesday morning.
Grinnell Police officers were called to a home for reports of an injured Red Tail Hawk in the backyard.
Officers took immediate action. In the video, you can see one officer throw a blanket over the hawk.
Police say it was taken to the Iowa Bird Rehabilitation Center.
The bird was secured safely and is being treated at the center.
