MEMPHIS, Tenn. - xAI's supercomputers in Boxtown and Whitehaven have been controversial projects in their neighborhoods. Now, tax money from those supercomputers will go directly to those communities.

Memphis City Council approved Tuesday the project on the third and final reading. This means 25% of the property tax revenue will go to those communities where the supercomputers are located.

It's not clear exactly what that money will be spent on but city councilmembers want to see big investments in places like education, sustainability and community-based advisory committees, made up to include people who live in the impacted communities.
