BOISE, Idaho — Idaho Health officials confirmed a third case of measles in an Idaho resident Wednesday, raising concerns about community transmission of the highly contagious virus.
The latest case of confirmed infection was in an unvaccinated child in Bonner County, according to the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare and Panhandle Health District. Officials said there is no known connection between this case and the first reported case in Kootenai County . Also, the second case was reported in Bonneville County last week .
"Without any link between these two confirmed cases in north Idaho or travel outside of their communities, it's reasonable to suspect that there is more measles circulating," said Dr. Christine Hahn, state epidemiologist and Division of Public Health medical
