CLARK COUNTY, Indiana — Harnessing the power of the sun has brought storm clouds over Hoosiers in rural Clark County.
Many residents said this was more than just protecting farmland for future generations but also their morals.
Florida-based company Bright Night has been working on plans to construct solar farms on rural Clark County farmland for the past two years. They have even downsized their original plan, hoping it would appease Hoosiers who are very concerned about the fate of their area.
"All the people here in red shirts, we're not financially gaining anything from this," said Jason Miles, a Clark County resident. "The other side put a lot of effort into it. They had a lot of financial gain involved. For us this was purely about protecting our community."
