NASHWAUK, Minn. (Northern News Now) - A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held as political leaders joined parents, students, and teachers on the range, celebrating the grand opening of the area’s brand new Pre-K through 12th-grade school.

Iron Range residents passed a referendum to replace the Nashwauk-Keewatin Schools building, as it was the oldest in the entire state of Minnesota.

“Today marks more than just the opening of a new facility,” said Superintendent Dr. Rae Villebrun. “It marks the beginning of a new chapter in our community’s story.”
