I nto the ever-beating heart of rock ’n’ roll delved The Boxmasters. Formed in 2006, their explorations have since led to their latest album, “Pepper Tree Hill.”

Upon the road went The Boxmasters. Which brings the quintessentially American band led by J.D. Andrew and Bud Thornton to Hard Rock Bristol in Bristol, Virginia, on Friday, Aug. 22.

About that Bud Thornton fellow. The world knows him as Billy Bob Thornton, Academy Award-winning actor and director. Yet since his youth, Thornton played music. Nowadays, when not starring in television’s “Landman” or “Goliath,” he’s the lead singer of The Boxmasters.
