A woman was arrested for attempted murder after allegedly stabbing a man in Ventura County.

On Aug. 19, deputies from the Fillmore Station responded to the 600 block of Ventura Street in Fillmore shortly after 12 p.m.

Authorities found the victim, a 36-year-old man, suffering from a stab wound. He was transported to the hospital for treatment. The suspect had fled the scene before deputies arrived.

Investigators later identified Patsy Escoto, 35, of Fillmore, as the primary suspect. They discovered Escoto had boarded a bus that was headed towards the Santa Paula area.

“By the time resources arrived in Santa Paula, she had exited the bus and fled on foot,” officials said. “A search of the area was conducted, but law enforcement was unable to locate Escoto.”
