HUNTINGTON – Of the more than 300 IHSAA schools that field football teams, just two were able to fashion an eight-win improvement from 2023 to 2024.
One of those was North Miami, which got an assist in its leap from 2-9 to 10-3 when it switched to a schedule of exclusively Class 1A teams with its move from the Three Rivers Conference to the Hoosier North.
The other big mover was Huntington North, which needed no such softening of its schedule to vault from 1-9 in 2023, its first year under coach Mike Eshbach, to 9-4.
