Shifted school boundaries as well as a new form of communication has brought some changes to Mesa County Valley School District 51’s bus service to start the new school year.
D51 contracts Student Transportation of America (STA) to handle bus operations across the Grand Valley.
One of the top priorities for the district this year was establishing a bus route for students who were previously attending Nisley Elementary School, one of the three elementary schools the district closed after the spring semester along with Clifton and Scenic.
Nisley didn’t have any bus service when it was open. Many of its students walked to school from the nearby HomewardBound of the Grand Valley Pathways Family Shelter.
