Bellevue’s main commercial stretch is set to get some more retail space.

The former Lauterbach Electric Co. property at 4029 MacArthur Ave. is planned to be razed to make way for a new, 7,000-square-foot building that would target restaurant and retail tenants.

The project is led by developers Alex Griffith and Ben Adamson, the duo wrapping up work on The Bellevue, a mixed-use conversion of the former Samis Grotto Temple across the street.

Lauterbach had been on MacArthur for 30 years, offering commercial and residential electrical services, but last month sold its property to Griffith and Adamson for $550,000. Lauterbach President Dwane Chisenhall said the company is staying in business and operating out of a local home office.
