McDonald’s have expressed their “disappointment” that plans for a second branch in Dumfries face refusal.
Officials have recommended the proposal for a drive-thru on Annan Road be rejected when the planning applications committee meets next week.
That’s despite the fast food chain making changes to a proposal they lodged last year, which they withdrew when it was also recommended for refusal.
Concerns about the latest application include a belief the site would “not accord with the objectives of local living and would be over-reliant on the use of private transport” and also fears over its impact on the landscape.
