HIXSON, Tenn. (WDEF) – Lightning causes a fire that destroyed a large Hixson home on Wednesday.

At 4:19 P.M., firefighters responded to a residential fire located on the 1600 block of Kamin Road off of Middle Valley Road.

The smoke from the fire in the attic was visible upon arrival.

While the firefighters put out the fire, the roof began to sag and crews were removed from the house due to safety concerns.

Another crew came to assist. Aerial master streams and hose lines were used.

After several house, the fire was put out with no injuries.
