CLEVELAND, Ohio - Officials have recovered the bodies of two men who were reported missing after a rip current dragged them into Lake Erie over the weekend.
Between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Wednesday, Cleveland Metroparks police and Avon Lake firefighters found the bodies of Austin Labbe, 22, and Trent Sanchez, 19, in the water off Lorain County, officials said.
Sanchez and Labbe, who are half brothers, had been swimming in waist-deep water off Huntington Beach in Bay Village on Sunday when the current pulled them away from shore, officials said.
