HUNTINGTON — Marshall women’s soccer continued a strong start to its season with a shutout win over Glenville State on Wednesday, 6-0, at Hoops Family Field.
Fernanda Dantas was star-studded with an assist on Marshall’s opening goal and a solo goal to finish the day. Geovanna Souza, Larissa Ozorio, Kajsa Ekstrom, Tiggi Gent and Bailey Fisher each scored goals.
“I think we started with a lot of power offensively, scoring a lot of goals in the first half,” Marshall coach Rafa Simoes said. “Making us able to play lighter in the second half is big for us. I think we’re playing collectively as both a team and a unit, and that’s massive for us.”
The Herd (2-0) held the Pioneers (0-1) without a shot until the 79th minute of the match and produced 26 of its own, 12 on goal.
