Plans for creating a concrete plant company in Lochside have being revived – six months after being rejected by councillors.
Dumfries businessman Mr L Scott has come back to Dumfries and Galloway Council with fresh proposals for a self-batching concrete station in Lochside Industrial Estate.
A group of objectors, including nearby residents and business owners at the industrial estate, had previously convinced the council’s planning committee that concrete business was inappropriate for the area.
The size of machinery, including an eight metre high hopper for producing concrete, and the visual impact this would have, was a major factor for the refusal of planning permission in February.
However, scaled-down plans have now been submitted in a planning application for the same site. Extra
