DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — A Decatur mother is dead and her two kids were hurt in a Wednesday night stabbing.

Officers responded around 9:45 p.m. to a home in the 1900 block of East Main Street.

They found three victims — a 38-year-old woman and her two children, ages 14 and 16. All three had been stabbed.

The mother later died at the hospital. Her children were treated and released.

Detectives say they’ve collected surveillance video and spoken with multiple people as the investigation continues.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact the department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
