CLARKSVILLE, Ind. — A double murder that happened nearly 12 years ago has a new break after the suspect was found at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Georgia. Carlos Alberto Bonilla-Canenguez will face two murder charges in Indiana after being extradited from ICE custody.
On Oct. 9, 2013, Clarksville Police officers responded to a house fire in the 400 block of North Randolph Avenue. What turned into an arson investigation for the Clarksville Fire Department also turned into a double homicide investigation for police after two bodies were found. One had over a hundred stab wounds.
"It's a career case for detectives," Clarksville Police Chief Nathan Walls said. "It's the kind of thing that, if you don't get closure on, could eat at you down the road."
