WALTON COUNTY, Ga. — A now-former employee at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center will spend 20 years in prison after pleading guilty in a child molestation and grooming case.

The employee, 59-year-old Samuel "Ray" Ham, was terminated after his arrest in April . In addition to his 20 years in prison without parole, he'll then have life on probation.

A release issued Wednesday by the district attorney in Walton County, Randy McGinley, said Ham pleaded guilty on Monday to three counts of aggravated sexual battery, four counts of child molestation and one count of grooming a minor for a sexual offense.

DA McGinley said the plea hearing was attended by "numerous supporters of the victim," who read various impact statements in court.
