GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Gainesville city commissioners will meet on Thursday to discuss a 2023 feasibility study on the proposed cultural arts center in east Gainesville.

In July the city commission requested a recap of the results from the $100,000 feasibility study completed and presented in 2023.

This study was led by the Parks Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department. The city retained AMS Planning & Research, in collaboration with Wilson Butler Architects and Fisher Dachs Associates, and incorporated extensive community engagement

In 2024 AMS presented the final recommendation to the city commission. Key components of the study included community surveys, public visioning workshops, comparative case studies from peer cities and site and facility assessments.
