LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The process to clear the site of a deadly plant explosion that rocked a Louisville neighborhood is moving forward.
Nine months after a deadly blast killed two employees, the aftermath of the Givaudan plant explosion is in plain view. For months, neighbors have known the company would not be rebuilding on the Payne Street site but unsure of when the debris would be hauled away.
Mayor Craig Greenberg’s, D-Louisville, office announced Wednesday that the site has been released back to the company and therefore may apply for required permits to begin demolition.
