MADISON, Wis. -- The day has finally arrived as hundreds of Dane County students will pick up brand-new backpacks filled with school supplies, thanks to this year’s Stuff the Bus campaign.
With the support of News 3 Now viewers, volunteers were able to fill 734 backpacks this year. That means more than 700 local kids are now set up for success as they head into the new school year.
All week long, volunteers at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Dane County have been busy stuffing those backpacks, and now they’re ready for distribution.
Families must have registered ahead of time to receive supplies, which will be handed out later today at three locations:
Allied Family Center in Fitchburg
Fleming Family Club in Madison
McKenzie Family Club in Sun Prairie
Each site will be open from 4 to 6
