EAST LANSING — Whenever the Michigan State offense found itself stalled out last season, it knew it could rely on the leg of Jonathan Kim to put points on the scoreboard. Now that he’s graduated, there’s a pair of all-important cleats to fill on special teams.

Who’s going to fill them? That’s a question even the Spartans would love answered, too. Injuries to kickers Tarik Ahmetbasic and Martin Connington limited their reps in fall camp. And so just a little over one week until its Aug. 29 home opener against Western Michigan (7 p.m./FS1), Michigan State enters the season with a big question mark at one of its former strengths.
