Tom Brady got a statue . So what does Rob Gronkowski have in store?

The former tight end says he has plans to sign a one-day contract so he can retire as a member of the New England Patriots .

“Come back for a day, a weekend, whatever it is. So we’ll make it happen, and it’ll be a really, really cool moment,” Gronkowski told reporters . “It’s going to happen. We just don’t know when.”

Gronkowski was back in Boston this week to celebrate the opening of the “Gronk Playground” on the Esplanade. It turns out that Susan Hurley, the CharityTeams founder who helps make the playground a reality, was at the root of it.

Hurley reportedly approached Patriots chairman Robert Kraft about the idea of a one-day contract for Gronkowski. Kraft was apparently all for it.
