AKRON, Ohio — Akron police and the Summit County Medical Examiner are investigating a shooting that killed a 27-year-old man Wednesday evening.

Officials confirmed Thursday morning that Akron police and EMS responded to a shooting in the 900 block of Dayton Street around 10:35 p.m.

Upon arrival, first responders discovered the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds inside the residence.

The medical examiner confirmed that the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials say the identity of the victim will be released after an autopsy is completed.
