STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A total of 130 elected officials from across New York state joined together to decry the Northeast Supply Enhancement Project, a pipeline proposed to cross from New Jersey waters into New York’s.
Penning a letter to Gov. Kathy Hochul, the officials argued against the revival of the Northeast Supply Enhancement (NESE) Project and the Constitution pipeline, in addition to the expansion of the Project Maple pipeline.
Though the Constitution pipeline and the Project Maple pipeline does not impact Staten Island, the NESE pipeline — if approved — will be built directly off the borough’s shores.
