Michelle Yeoh is speaking about the decision to split Wicked into two separate films.

If you don’t know, the first film was released in theaters in November of 2024.

Part 2, which is titled Wicked: For Good , will hit theaters on November 21, 2025.

“I think there was talk: ‘Maybe we should just [squish] it together,’” Michelle told People about the thought process while they were filming. She added that they filmed both movies at the same time, but they ended up deciding to make two films. Why? “There’s so many nuances.”

She continued, “After you saw Wicked One, you felt, ‘I saw a complete film — but I want to know more about what’s gonna happen next.’”
