HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - On this date in 2017, we had the Great American Eclipse.

It was visible across our entire region.

It spread from Oregon to South Carolina.

It hit right in the middle of the afternoon and we had live coverage as it turned the sky black.

It was the first total solar eclipse in the United States in decades at that point.

We had a much more limited eclipse that hit in April of last year, where we also had special coverage.
