Building on the success of last year’s back-to-school backpack campaign, during which 2,000 backpacks were distributed to local youth in need, Mayor Paul Lefebvre announced this week that an additional 1,200 backpacks will be allocated this year.
The initiative has had a meaningful impact in Greater Sudbury, ensuring children are equipped with the supplies they need and the confidence to begin the school year on solid footing, he said in a release.
