CHANDLER, Ariz. — A suspect is dead following a shooting involving police in Chandler, the city's police department said.

On Thursday, around 7 a.m., Chandler police were called to a home near Frye Road and Windstream Place for reports of a man trying to gain entry into the house.

The suspect was arguing with someone who lives in the property when someone opened the garage. At that point, the suspect went inside their garage and took a vehicle, said Ryan Cody, Chandler Police Department spokesperson, during a press conference around noon.

As officers arrived on scene, they encountered the suspect. Police said the suspect, an unidentified man, fled the scene in a vehicle.

A pursuit reportedly ensued and officials said the suspect rammed at least one police vehicle. He was then involved
