METAMORA, MI — If you’re looking for one last weekend getaway before school starts that will entertain the whole family, this small town Michigan festival has it all.

Metamora Country Days and Hot Air Balloon Festival will have plenty of food, sweet treats, ice cream, as well as close-up magic shows, a car show, live music and even a corn hole tournament.

This popular family-friendly celebration, in its 44th year, draws thousands of visitors every August to the village of Metamora in Lapeer County.

Metamora Country Days and Hot Air Balloon Festival will take place Friday, Aug. 22, and Saturday, Aug. 23.

Revelers enjoy local eats, crafts and activities, music, art, a parade, and the launching over 20 hot air balloons on Friday and Saturday night.
