Tesco shoppers 'boycotting' supermarket after 'outrageous' price increase

The era of securing a bargain lunch while out and about has ended, even for Tesco Clubcard members, as the retailer confirmed a price hike. The cost of a main, snack and drink has risen from £3.60 to £3.85 for Clubcard members, taking effect today (Thursday, 21 August). Shoppers without a Clubcard will witness even even bigger price jump, however, from £4 to £4.25.

Nevertheless, some frustrated Tesco customers revealed this completely deters them from buying at the supermarket, claiming it's no longer particularly affordable for many, particularly those without a Clubcard.
