EXCLUSIVE : Chain Reactions , the homage to iconic horror The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, has set a U.S. release date of September 19.

The film will open at the Regal Union Square, NY, and the Laemmle Noho in LA on the 19th and then expand from September 26 via Dark Sky Films. Above is a new trailer.

The movie played at festivals last year including Venice, Telluride, London, Tokyo, Fantastic Fest and Film At Lincoln Center, to mark the fiftieth anniversary of Tobe Hooper’s controversial classic.

The doc specifically charts the film’s impact and lasting influence on five filmmakers and actors: Patton Oswalt, Takashi Miike, Alexandra Heller-Nicholas, Stephen King, and Karyn Kusama.
