Falkirk will be allowed to use their current artificial pitch next season if they stay in the top flight. ‌

A ban on synthetic surfaces in the Premiership was due to come into effect at the end of this campaign. ‌

But following long-running talks between the Bairns and the SPFL , a period of grace has been granted before a grass pitch is installed in the summer of 2027. ‌

A joint statement issued by the SPFL and Falkirk said the governing body “has agreed to advance some of the club’s fees... to help with the installation of a grass pitch” for the 2027-28 campaign.

Along with other clubs spread throughout the SPFL , Falkirk had been pushing for a support package to make the change after putting the cost of doing so at £1.2million.
