A few weeks ago, Alisha Campaner received heartbreaking, life-changing news.

She was told her four-year-old daughter, Ivy, has cancer.

The official diagnosis was determined to be Acute Myeloid Leukemia.

In late July, Campaner took Ivy to the North Bay Regional Health Centre. It was determined that the toddler had really low levels of hemoglobin and platelets. Soon thereafter, she was told the news.

Ivy and her mother were flown to the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario in Ottawa, where they will stay for the next five to six months.

“She’s one strong girl. This battle isn’t knocking her down,” Alisha Campaner told The Nugget Wednesday evening.
