MASON, Ohio (WXIX) - Head trauma was determined as the cause of death for the Cincinnati Open intern who died earlier this week, the Butler County Coroner’s Office determined.

People who knew Cincinnati Open Intern Joshua Darst are mourning his loss after he died in what’s being called a “tragic accident” Monday.

FOX19 NOW spoke to his pastor, Brian McManus, who said that he had a tremendous effect on those who knew him.

“Here’s somebody that had such an impact already, and such a life ahead of him,” McManus said. “It makes you numb.”

He said that Darst, 21, attended Tri-County Baptist Church his whole life. McManus met him when he was a little boy.
