TRAVERSE CITY, MI -- A popular Traverse City restaurant is set to close.

Blue Tractor, a barbecue spot on South Union Street that has been serving Up North customers since 2006, announced on social media that it will close on Aug. 31.

“It’s been one heck of a ride,” the post read. “Blue Tractor first fired up the smoker back in July 2006, and for nearly two decades, we’ve had the honor of serving up BBQ, beer, and good times in downtown Traverse City.”

The restaurant was known for a variety of meats including pulled pork, beef brisket, smoked chicken and baby back ribs, as well as several sandwiches, burgers and sides.
