High school football is back with a full slate of games on Friday. It's Week One for SCISA and Week Zero for the SC High School League. Here are a few news items and notes you should know before heading out this week.

Bruins open the season ranked

Orangeburg-Wilkinson enters the season ranked in the first SC Media Preseason Football Poll. The Bruins are tenth in Class 3A and picked to finish second in the region behind defending 3A champion Oceanside Collegiate. Bamberg-Ehrhardt is the highest ranked team in Class A (fifth) followed by Hunter-Kinard-Tyler (seventh) and Blackville-Hilda (eighth). Calhoun County, Branchville and Denmark-Olar each received at least one vote in the preseason poll.
