ATLANTIC CITY — Representatives from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development met with residents of Stanley Holmes Village Thursday morning a little more than a week after taking over the city's housing authority.

The meeting took place in the complex's community room and lasted a little more than an hour. It is unclear what specifically was discussed as The Press was not allowed inside.

HUD has not responded to multiple requests for comment regarding how the authority has been operating since the takeover and future plans.

Tom Sahlin, the authority's executive director, said he couldn't comment on the matter.

"This takeover needed to happen a long time ago," said Justine Williams, 51, after she left the meeting. "Hopefully HUD will fix all these problems."
