Ja’Lynn Polk’s sophmore season has reportedly come to an end.

After re-injuring the same shoulder that required offseason surgery in the New England Patriots preseason opener, Polk is set to undergo another surgery that will sideline him for the entire 2025-26 season, as first reported by NFL Insider Jordan Schultz.

Polk originally injured his right shoulder in Week 17 of last season in an attempt to make a diving catch. The offseason surgery led to the wide receiver spending the spring limited before missing the first week of training camp.

Returning to the practice fields for just over a week, an end-around in New England’s first preseason game ended with Polk landing awkwardly on the same shoulder and exiting the game. He has not practiced since.
