There's been a second day of problems on the North West's railways after a cable theft near Wigan .
There was widespread disruption yesterday after what was initially described as 'signalling problems'. It came after cables were deliberately cut in 'several locations' on a stretch of the West Coast Mainline near Wigan.
Northern, TransPennine Express and Avanti West Coast services were either delayed or cancelled, including trains in and out of Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Victoria stations. And the problems have continued into today with trains running through Wigan North Western and Preston train services cancelled.
