The Ministry of Justice are set to increase the lasting power of attorney (LPA) application fee later this year to £92, subject to parliamentary approval. The current cost of an application is £82.
Applications received by the Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) from November 17, 2025 will be subject to the new fee.
It has been increased to make sure that income from LPA applications better meet the cost of delivering the services provided by OPG, according to the Government .
However, certain applicants may be entitled to no fee or a fee reduction based on their financial circumstances.
