EATON COUNTY, Mich. (WILX) - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will begin single-lane closures on both eastbound and westbound I-96 between Lansing Road and Creyts Road in Eaton County starting Monday, August 25.

The closures are part of ongoing rebuilding work associated with a three-year, $44 million investment in I-96.

The overall project includes reconstruction of the eastbound and westbound I-96 bridges over Billwood Highway, Grand River, M-99, and Washington Avenue.

Most of the construction was completed during the 2023 and 2024 seasons.

The affected lanes are expected to reopen by Thursday, August 29.
